Part of Kanye West's gravity is he offers the verve & fervor of a prophet figure wreathed in American capitalist convictions. The Calvinist epitome, massive wealth attracted to the predestined, married a Fallen Woman, manic activity invested tearily, vulnerably, publicly.
Conversation
Odd moments of off-esoterica, dragon energy & whatnot, earnest speech occasionally wreathed in cultic clothing. Every song a confession. Titled Yeezus. Heavy Jesus themes on occasion, deep confessional songs (ultralight beam, Jesus Walks, Jesus is King, Runaway)

Relatable mix of highest and lowest. A constant riot, a bolt of energy driving through the American consciousness.
I think America is starving for prophets. For something to "break the simulation", to evade the endless piling-of-products-as-progress. Kanye West taps into that.

I wrote a bit on "seizing the mechanism of guilt & offering salvation"
This has always been profitable, but beyond profitable absolutely essential for a functioning social society where human beings've inbuilt prosocial mechanisms that include guilt.

Salvation is a fascinating idea. To be saved from one's self and surroundings, to be provided a chance to escape, to be justified, absolved. Forgiven for one's shortcomings and failures as a human.
Seizing the mechanism of guilt and offering absolution.

I'm looking out for an uptick in cultic activity, & look forward to the first popular candidates for president that have direct claim to prophecy. Many American presidents have spoken to God personally. Pharaohs were god-kings, Roman emperors were pontifex maximus.

Replying to
Fantastic.
Thinking about digging into a little cult research for fun, and cult aesthetic for very-practical purposes.
