gchat was almost as good in college but then it was... idk destroyed and replaced with hangouts, what even happened there, and hangouts is somehow a million times worse

alright i suppose it hasn't been all downhill, quoting + reacts + gifs are genuine improvements but the only place that seems to be doing it right is discord and most of my friends aren't on discord :/
