everything i want seems impossible. like, in both directions: it seems that once a thing becomes possible i stop wanting it

One thing that helped me recently I got from nonviolent communication: try to find the base need instead of looking for a specific goal
it becomes less about getting a specific thing and more about the freeform movement towards fulfilling that need
Here's some needs examples

It's especially hard nowadays, with covid bungling everything up. A lot of people are in the same boat framed generically as stress.
So you're looking for more autonomy, because you lack the ability to work towards your needs?

Oh! Like the world is your oyster, but there's way too many damn oysters and you can't even figure out which one to start with?

kinda? like nothing is constraining my dreams, goals, plans, etc. except that nothing feels both possible and motivating

Hmm I've been in that ennui a couple of times getting out has been different every time. It usually returns to emotions not providing the motivation needed
In my experience so far emotions didn't motivate because:
1. bonded to trauma memories
2. suppression
3. unclear needs

Replying to
probably all three of those in my case, feels like i've been very slowly circling around whatever emotional thing is stuck
Replying to
Circling and circling, each orbit never quiiiite getting to the heart of it
But you'll get there eventually π
