everywhere you hear yourself or someone else refer to "dopamine" (e.g. "gotta make good tweets for that sweet sweet dopamine" or whatever), try substituting "hope"

"dopamine = hope" thing is actually a somewhat indirect translation into punchy emotional language of the reward prediction error hypothesis. i couldn't find a similarly compelling description of serotonin and as far as i know there isn't one scholarpedia.org/article/Reward

hmmm nice, worth chewing on. iirc i had a conversation about this with andrew critch once and he said serotonin meant a bunch of different things in different parts of the body tho
