I've added investigation of space to my body scans.
I do this in two ways (with closed eyes):
1) Attending to the bodily sensation of space in the six cardinal directions outside the body.
2) Attending to the boundary between space and body.
Here's what I've observed:
Conversation
Felt space and seen space are separate.
In everyday awareness they combine to create a seamless, correlated experience.
Like the proprioception of walking and the movement of the visual field.
Or grasping out to grab a hot cup.

i got a taste of this from sleep paralysis hallucinations - i’d very often get strong proprioceptive hallucinations of a particular person being in the room but without a correspondingly strong visual hallucination
