i read a little about the sins to calibrate my ratings properly and this bit about sloth as being about "indifferen[ce] to their duties and obligations to God" hits surprisingly hard

this is prompting some actual serious reflection. i think in my mind sloth is the "safest" vice b/c it's quiet and "doesn't affect anybody" but that's in large part because i've carefully engineered my life to have as few responsibilities to other people as possible. hmm

I’ve always thought that there must be a huge overlap between what’s termed “sloth” and clinical depression and if true it seems awfully unfair labeling those who are sick with depression as “sinful .”
