why on earth are people into "lightning talks" that sounds like the worst way to hear or convey information, second only to talks of normal length or longer

the nice thing about lightning talks is you can do literally whatever you want for 5m or w/e, it doesn't have to be a talk in the traditional sense, nobody will stop you from just staring at the audience with haunted eyes for 5 minutes as a piece of performance art
