years ago someone told me they thought tablets were geared towards consumption and not production and that this was bad and i responded with a mocking dunk in front of a crowd of kids but she was completely right and i was just being an asshole

VR seems to run in the opposite direction, fortunately. Immersion implies interaction implies production. And just feels compulsively natural compared to creating with keyboard+mouse or one finger in a 6x10 window

this was more or less the flavor of the dunk i used (i forget what the exact comparison i used was) but i still think she had a better point than i did lol

Yes, I broadly agree, but the exceptions are interesting:
Resurgence in drawing thanks to iPad Procreate (could be availability heuristic bias on my part)
The elderly using the iPad for taking videos and photos more than their phones.

Also the dogged persistence of some tech professionals (managers in particular) to make it work as their primary work device.
