idle thought: the more women complain about men not going to therapy, the more therapy gets coded feminine the more interesting move would be to tell men to meditate and do psychedelics (not a claim about whether this is more or less effective than therapy)

btw i don't know if this is obvious from the rest of my tweets but despite believing a lot in getting in touch with your feelings etc. i did not do it using a therapist (although i did work with a sex coach) and am basically happy with that decision, for myself personally

could be idk, more interested in the position they're expressing as a symbol of a broader reaction i expect people to have the harder the "go to therapy" angle gets pushed in the discourse

yeah that's why i said i'm not endorsing the tweet, but it's worth noting that it has 80 RTs and 384 likes even though the account's not very big (1.3k followers), so people are vibing with it anyway

it will take years to undo this memetic damage. talking to these people abt t*****y now is like asking a 2006 new atheist to consider the power of prayer. the whole thing unfolded in such a depressing and predictable way i have to wonder if maybe that was the intent.
