to me the value of GPT-3 isn't "oh it writes better than me". it's "I give it a prompt and it gives me unexpectedly good suggestions that I can then choose from and integrate into my writing". it's like having your own improv crew a goddamn party is going on down there indeed

fair point. i have the sense from watching other people mess around that GPT-3 might already be good enough to be an “improv partner” in a broad sense - e.g. an assistant for fiction authors who are stuck and need ideas / inspiration - although plagiarism there gets tricky
