I've been reading Dorohedoro lately, a manga, and the ultraviolence, the art style, the characters and their relationships all hold me to it in a way I've not had this year. I keep picking up and putting down books. This one possesses me. Most of the anime I'm watching is tripe.

recommend? i was watching "a certain scientific railgun" until i caught up, then watched Beastars, BNA, and Devilman Crybaby before my present binge of Dorohedoro considering giving FLCL or Lain a first run, but i've been digging the relationship-centric stuff lately

it's quite good if u like relationship and character centric, id recommend. first season is slow bc it needs to introduce everyone, then it picks up quick and dives u into each character's psyche and growth every arc

That sounds about right. I'll throw it on the list. The social isolation is making me into a blubbering romantic feeding on relationship and growth arcs while curled into a deepening recess on my sofa. Need dates. Need intimacy. Instead I'm using anime/manga substitutes.

I haven't. Something about my being a goatfaced anon who spams about anime and anxieties prevents that. It's funny, I don't expect anything "real" to arise from the internet, in spite of that being proven false several times in my life, so I cut off certain emotional responses.
