Have been trying to learn more about trans issues, a topic I find confusing. I think I have identified at least one reason why: I totally fail the Cis People Imagine What It's Like To Be Trans Challenge.

Would I take a huge sum of money to wake up in a woman's body? Assuming "magical" transition (surgery=scary), my answer is easily "yes!". My price depends on what variables we're accounting for (attractiveness, height, future increased costs/lower pay as a woman, etc.)

But I'd say my all inclusive price is probably only in the low hundreds of thousands of dollars, and if you subtract "costs/risks of being a woman" from the price and just talk about how I *feel* about my *self* we're probably talking about the 10s or less.

Anyway, I am not trying to invalidate the experiences of others here. On the contrary hopefully this helps me understand others better! It seems I am not just unlike trans people but I am also significantly unlike other cis people. That is useful to know.

But then I read a linked post and she implied that if someone wouldn't crossdress, even facing no social stigma, then they're not cis by default. For me that varies. I'd feel weird (in a gender way) wearing a dress even with no stigma, but I might wear more glittery jewelry.
