ok here's what i think: when people you've been following for a while follow you back it's Good; only downside is that for this to happen you have to tweet and thereby make a fool of yourself

Some people are good at making a fool of themselves in a way that doesn't actually make people think they're foolish. But saying that *actually* looking foolish is good is a different thing, and that's a little too galaxy brained for me

unfortunately you might have to do the second thing in order to do the first thing
(i am saying this as much to myself as to anyone else, i am very bad at actually making a fool of myself)
