this person is conflating a bunch of very distinct western and Japanese styles into a homogenous blob, doing a lot more damage to the feminist ideals inherent in elegant gothic lolita than the supposed "e-girls" they're ranting about to make a quick "sexuality bad" jab.

and frankly, if you're so oblivious about a culture's fashionable roots to the point you're unable to distinguish different categories or comment on them accurately... who the heck are you to self-appoint yourself gatekeeper of who can and can't engage with that fashion?

also, people can act however they god damned well please. women do not "invite abuse" upon themselves or their communities through how they dress/act. if you're concerned about the sexual abuse of minors, focus on abusers, not women who wear thigh-highs. btw, cringe is dead.

minors aren't allowed to consent to sex before the age of majority. but you know what else they can't do? opt-out. if an adult makes a demand of them, society has layers of negatively reinforcing systems to force them to obey. abusers know this, and exploit that.

if your analysis of pedophilia stops at individual behaviour or literary analysis, you are tilting at windmills. the superstructure of our society is based on grooming minors to obey adults at all costs, or face punishment. a woman wearing short skirt is *nothing* comparatively.

the nuclear family, schools, pediatric medicine and psychiatry, law enforcement, organized religion, the tech industry, and even child protective services all have systems to give adults complete, unfettered control over children, perpetually. absolute power corrupts absolutely.

what good is teaching kids about "consent" in things like sex ed if "no means no" means jack shit for them everywhere else, where adults can twist their arms at-will with impunity? this is fundamentally about how society raises people. *there is no quick fix.*
