oh, “patronizing bulldozing” is a great description. perhaps the true essence of mansplaining is the way it reduces the listener to an object, to be passively filled with wisdom rather than attended to as an equal and active participant

listening to a dude lecture a chick about the evils of hierarchy, and she's not into it, but he's being super boorish about it never invoke mansplaining but there's no other way to describe this weird patronizing bulldozing he's attempting

tbh i do passively enjoy getting filled with wisdom (as long as it's interesting and i can understand it)?

Common theme on Twitter is that someone makes a terse statement alluding to some advanced topic and someone feels a need to dump a 101 introduction as a reply that feels like it's vaguely contradicting the more advanced statement and it's annoying as fuck.

i dont find it annoying except in cases where im actively trying to solve a problem and im at the literal end of my wits and on the verge of sobbing from frustration someone suggests something that was my first try and was visible in the very error message screenshot i posted.
