here’s my proposal, it’s pretty simple: college admissions can still happen, just... without college attached to it
incoming freshmen take all the money that was going to be spent on tuition and pool it to buy mansions together and study whatever they want

i had this idea 5 or so years ago but it’s looking a lot closer to the overton window these days

I know a few grad students who were due to start this fall are planning to rent a house in Jeju (island, v nice place) together and just study there for however long as it takes for covid to go away.
