a question thats very alive for me lately is how much to fight these adaptations and how much to let them be. sometimes it really is te wiser option not to fight it, but on the other hand it can grow and stop serving you

mmmmm yeah like, if this is a way my body knows it can say “slow tf down lady” and I’ll actually listen, I can imagine why it might be coming up I notice that, if this is depression, I’m much more responsive and responsible around it than I have been before, that’s encouraging

my relationship with anxiety has improved a lot since I started treating it more like a handwritten letter and less like a car alarm going off a block away

exaaactly- and btw no one is stopping you from using the same tools u used to beat the car pancaking kind on the can recycling kind. engage in a tad of overkill, and u can find urself above average happy which isn't the word thing thats ever happened (tho mania is a thing)

I think part of the “crushing pancakey depression was normal” thing is I am not able to discern the difference between above average happiness and mania either 😅 I have survived extreme zoom zoom zoom mania before to tho so if I overshoot I know how to stay safe there too lol

lol yeah :) from what ive learned, its pretty fun to find out, but it can be less fun for the people around you, so motivation for being careful with it can be increased via a desire to take care of your loved ones

Replying to @SethSullivan and @QiaochuYuan
to clarify, im not nec. saying we all have the space to eat the whole stack of trauma pancakes right away- just that were often the 1st to have enough space to realize its even there and that someone should start eating it and even one less pancake can be a relief
