going on my first ever meditation retreat later next week
(with the nice monks-in-residence at OAK)
any tips or advice? (including very mundane)

it can be easy to turn meditation into a tool to beat yourself up with and i have a guess that that’s something you might be inclined towards

I think if I metabolize that, it's like
not so much "beat up" as the risk, because I'm doing alright (ish?) at steering towards what feels balanced and unblocked
but even that is still quite a bit of a *goal* or *progress* orientation

kind of cool to remember I can go to a meditation retreat just for the honest enjoyment of being a mind watching itself
like to do it just because it sounds neat
to play with the experience
not to need another reason
