yeah sex is good but have you ever tried helping a friend cry about how he feels responsible for his dad's death and - this is the crazy shit - how he *needs* to feel responsible for his dad's death, because otherwise the world doesn't make any sense and god is a piece of shit

this is really great it reminds me of Bessel van der Kolk's _The Body Keeps The Score_ and my profound revulsion at how he discusses, and how his patients discuss, military trauma from doing war crimes and to some extent _Deepest Well_ by Nadine Burke Harris

like I get that having veterans locate themselves on a map can activate their HPA axis and work to curtail the sympathetic activation of the nervous system that's causing inflammation and degradation from horrible trauma

or like, that yoga helps people who have killed innocent children deal with the pain in their bodies, great but what about having them come to terms with the deep, horrible, emotional pain they are feeling because it is actually correct to feel that way
