I just refer to them as unresolved emotional impressions. This covers the whole gamut, some of which are traumatic and some of which are simply impressions. Both shape the sense of self and world view. Unresolved +ve impressions still distort a person's perceptions.

Agreed with Qc on both counts here. Might have to invent new words to talk clearly about this though, either some weird mashup like "unem" (short for Unresolved Emotion) or finding some nice latin root & remixing it. Or ofc a new metaphor, as "trauma" comes from physical trauma.
"seldu'u" in lojban would be "that which causes emotional distress", could be shortened for english purposes to "seldu"... ...mmm I think metaphor may be a better bet. In any case, I need to sleep.
