Why do you think it’s good to interpret a lot of things as trauma? I have the opposite intuition.

i spent a lot of time around the rationality community and they were pretty interested in dealing with things like motivation, focus, chronic fatigue, etc. but IMO their approaches were off-base, mostly didn't work, and may even have made things worse

the only thing that's actually worked for me is trauma work in a broad sense and i suspect this is true of many other people as well. there is a risk of running into a particular kind of victim mindset but it doesn't need to be there. can you say more about your intuition?

Oh I guess you have DMs off. Well I can try to go in-depth through DMs. The gist of it is that I had a hard time once and started to get into that trauma stuff and then I realized I was kind of imagining a lot of it. What helps me is just moving forward.

Also, I noticed that some people got into a heavy victim mentality when they had that mindset. And it was a lifelong thing which is hard to get out of.

Also I agree that motivation focus etc. are basically ineffective when you're going through a really hard time or when the issue is basically about life meaning, which is way deeper.
