it distresses me that the more i learn about psychology the more power i acquire to fuck people up psychologically. i guess this is the psych equivalent of getting physically stronger and more capable of causing physical harm. hopefully i am also becoming more good

it is maybe bad infosec to be too specific here or something but like it is possible to learn how to read people's emotional weaknesses and exploit them, and get better at that process by having a clearer model of emotional weaknesses and how they are maintained
(not a huge fan of the term "weakness" here, that's not intended as a judgment about lack of virtue but a description of anything that's part of the "attack surface" of a particular human's psychology)
