Depending on your perspective, it could be easy to see no difference at all. Sometimes an aged face looks like the face of decades past when you look at it just so, under the right lighting. The internal experience, meanwhile, is one of being pulled up by the roots.

E.g. I've always felt like something was off about me. Never received a diagnosis, but something just didn't feel right. Spent a lot of time recently around someone with narcissistic personality disorder *in remission* (a rarity, to put it mildly). And, uh, I can relate. A lot.

Which aspect are you looking for details on? Remission and what it looks like; relatable traits...?

the traits, yeah. have had a sense for awhile that i trend narcissistic when i'm happy and use sadness as a way to stop myself from doing that. would also be interested in hearing about remission and what it looks like!

Hm. The new girlfriend is the foil, having diagnosed NPD but in partial remission. A few thing I saw clearly via her: Saviour complex leading to unhealthy relationships lacking in mutual respect/clear boundaries. She could see this instantly, recognizable from her own life.

Extreme sensitivity to criticism, leading to excuse-making, even for acceptable or extremely insignificantly bad behavior. Sensitivity to social dynamics as well, including extremely sharp intuitions about others' internal states and relationships, but w/projection issues.

By which I mean until tomorrow. Legitimately too tired to function intellectually.
