Important to remember that some things correlated with bad outcomes may in fact be correctives rather than the cause.

Toy example: You may find that abnormally large amounts of sleeping are correlated with death. It may be that this abnormal amount is a corrective.

In complex systems full of homeostatic negative feedback loops, sometimes correlation is due to *anti-causation*!
The tumor suppressor is a great example of such a case.
