      Growing up in the 80s was kinda like 10s right now, but this is significantly worse. That felt like the last decade of a big 50-year conflict (Cold War). This feels like the beginning of a new 50-year conflict. You guys were programmed for a longer period of peace than you got.

      Even from Singapore I feel like 90s childhood was pretty great. Cold War over, great cartoons on TV, computers becoming more user friendly, video games, MTV and anime, everything seemed wonderful and optimistic until 9/11
