Have you tried asking for consent for a greater than nth share?
i do sometimes say “little worried that i’m talking too much, do you guys want me to talk less” but mostly i just try to read the conversation. depends a lot on who’s in it. lots of people i think are very uncomfortable being explicit about their conversational preferences
Ya consent is pretty warped by social norms.
The holy grail is to take up less than 1/n of conversation time but end up contributing more than 1/n of value
When I'm conscious of overdoing it, I try to wait for a few beats of silence between utterances so there's plenty of space for others, without them having to jump in
