oh please can someone please hand me a functionally workable definition of culture and how it arises out of groups of individuals that i can use in an essay without anyone getting too quibbly or metaphysical

culture is the stuff that people do and that they expect other people to do, etc. down however many levels you want for deeper and deeper levels of culture
gets tricky when you hit things like, stuff that people are supposed to pretend that they do and expect others to do but don’t actually do; arguably the culture there is about the pretending but that makes it hard to evaluate what culture is based on what people say it is
