@QiaochuYuan Are you aware of anyone who has run with the idea of "internal legibility"? Fleshed out that idea?
not off the top of my head. there’s probably something interesting to be written about e.g. the modern concept of mental health as making oneself psychologically legible, to self and others and the medical system...

cool idea. vaguely recalling mystical tradition that was all about the power of names. also makes me think of art frontiers as that which escapes legibility. natural gravitation to that which isn't understood.
