When I was young I repeated a promise to myself that I'll take kids seriously when I grow up. I've stuck to that promise, and my own life has been enriched by it.

yes, i maybe should have said the thing in more detail, the point is not that the kids are right, the point is that when the kids show you what it's like to be *incompletely* indoctrinated, you learn something about the shape of your own indoctrination
