pop culture needs more stories of people who bravely and heroically give up on things who don’t persevere, save their energy and time and resources for the future, notice when they’re in a sinking ship and actually get out sometimes give up, sometimes surrender
right, this relates to the thing where superheroes are constantly protecting the status quo and reacting to threats, and the only people who actively try to change anything are supervillains
