there's a restaurant at SFO that supposedly sells hainan chicken rice (a lifelong favorite!), but i have never been able to order it because they're always out. it's 11am motherfucker how have you not either removed it from the menu or gotten better at stocking it

in my experience testing it out at restaurants, it's easy to fuck up. if you prepare it poorly the chicken and rice end up dry and everything ends up bland. IMO the chicken, rice, and soup should all taste good separately and even better together

Incidentally, Lucky Bird in Berkeley (next to Triple Rock and more importantly, my apartment), has a pretty decent version of hainan chicken rice.

oh nice! there was a place that sold a version of it near downtown berkeley BART but it closed and i was real sad
