i need a name for the moment in personal development / self-improvement / etc. work where you first run into a "problem" that actively resists being "solved"; feels like an important developmental milestone to me

Thinking about this for a bit, it might be the difference between personal development as an extension of “professional development” (which is a distinct strain) vs a “spiritual” approach. A professional wouldn’t attempt to solve something that can’t be solved...
