somehow i can’t stand the experience of listening to podcasts? i think something feels subtly bad to me about listening to voices w/o seeing accompanying faces

So I deliberately listen to podcasts only when otherwise-engaged (eg driving), or when I’m tired enough I need to recover with my eyes closed. If I lie down and listen to a podcast when I have too much energy, I also lose focus and try to look at my phone.

I only listen to podcasts when walking or cleaning, doing laundry, etc. Can’t focus on them otherwise, but walking in the city + podcast is a perfect mix to capture my attention

Interesting! I want to know more about that eyes being starved for something to do. Would looking at a visualizer while listening solve this? What about closing your eyes and letting your visual imagination riff off the podcast material?

I have to set the playback speed to around 1.7x to avoid mind-wandering
