A few weeks ago a friend suggested that I try making decisions while taking into consideration the impact they'll have on my potential future family, esp. my potential future children. This touched something in me.

On a flight I listened to a little girl scream her throat raw for over an hour. She was suffering, and her parents could do nothing. They had deliberately chosen to trap themselves in a shaky metal tube in the sky, with strangers who also could do nothing but listen and suffer.

This world was not built for children, or for parents. It was not built to respond to screams. There is much work to do. For that little girl, and for everyone.
