At the very least you need to ask, if porn is a coping mechanism, what is it coping for? That's a much bigger question and gets at a lot of painful and uncomfortable stuff about modern life: alienation, lack of connection, trauma, list goes on.

It is impossible to think about any real problem in isolation. Almost every intractably terrible thing is compensating for another intractably terrible thing (e.g. school is terrible but we need it because parents have to be at their jobs so don't have time for childcare).
