I suspect therapy methods work better the more you believe in and trust them. This means there's something harmful about studying how well therapy methods work and publicizing that information, which is that they can cause the methods to work less well.

I believe what you talk here about is the placebo effect. That’s not a method. And what you recommend sounds a lot like an embargo on negative results which is definitely NOT OK.

I'm not recommending anything; for me "there's something harmful about X" doesn't imply "...so we should stop doing it." I think lots of things are harmful, cost-benefit analysis is complicated, so is figuring out how policies should be decided on, etc. etc.
