Me 5yrs ago: How come ppl in the 21st century still fall for such obvious bullshit as tarot or astrology?
Me now: So you can use tarot as a framework to talk about psychology, relationships, trauma, etc, like @thejessicadore does? Where do I learn this stuff?

pretty much assume that people are getting something out of whatever it is that they do, and asking "what are they getting out of this?" opens up so much that "lol i guess they're just idiots" doesn't
tarot and astrology are sources of meaning; they appeal to people who lack other sources of meaning, and that's most people these days
