Trying to feel them is actually overwhelming; they're so intense that I'm using all the avoidance tricks I built up to avoid negative emotions, but on positive emotions. It's wild to see myself do this.

Yeah, it's fascinating to experience how joyful memories are just as painful as sorrowful ones. I've also been experiencing this while meditating recently.
