I have yet to meet another man who says he DIDN’T grow up in a stoic family where sentimental emotions were suppressed as irrelevant but problematic ones were surfaced because Protestant work ethic etc I think this is a telling symptom of emotional dysfunction on a massive scale

@Meaningness’ take on stages of development and getting to the part where he called communal cultures effectively “choiceless”, i almost fell out of my seat -
how do _they_ deal with the trauma of a person who sees and in some cases makes choices where there none to be perceived? it hasn’t been pretty in some cases
