Seems like spectacular sporting events are often the earliest memories of a historical consciousness forming for people. Makes sense. Highly visual, iconic figures, simple competitive plots, plenty of pageantry and symbolism to imprint on.
I still don't think I really understood the question. What does it feel like for history to have started?
