Did the internet as a whole generally start censoring swearwords more in the last month or so? Super confused about this. Seeing tons of asterisks lately and I don't feel like I used to.

swearing is for edgy children, we are mature adults now
I could understand just not swearing entirely, but what I'm seeing is people censoring every letter of swearwords except the first and last, like f**k. It's most obvious on Cracked where I'm pretty sure it didn't used to happen and is being done algorithmically.
