7) The default story of humanity is one of finding gold in some part of the universe and pursuing that gold at the expense of other parts of ourselves until we reach a point where the gold we've found is no longer valuable relative to what we've ignored to get it.

8) That may not make sense to many people, but trying to explain it rationally wouldn't do a whole lot of good, because it's not a "rational" thing. That's not to say adding in some rationality can't be useful. Especially to lead heavily rational people to a new experience.

9) In fact one of the primary functions of the mythological scribe/writer is to help male experiences more legible to others. I don't need words if you and I experience the same thing together. But words can be bread crumbs left to lead someone to an experience.

10) Again it never replaces the use of the long forgotten mode of perception, but it can provide us enough safety and associations to allow us to slip into forgotten ways of being.

11) The books Impro, The Artists Way are in this category for creativity. The Music Lesson and The Mind Illuminated are like this for spirituality one through the musical path and one through meditative path.

12) Teachers are like this too. My heavily self-projected impression is that @OortCloudAtlas is a good teacher for the Bay area because he cross links a lot with the rational mind which helps the tech milieu connect to the spiritual mind via bridge building.

13) Ultimately the most effective route for unrepressing modes of perception is being surrounded and supported by deep wells of love.

14) That's why a good teacher is always more important than the right discipline/path for anything. A good teacher will have a massive amount of unconditional love and that will allow their students to flourish in whatever way makes the most sense to them... Including leaving.
