I get very excited when a new group of people bring me in a level closer into their fold, kinda like earning a cat’s trust. I am now on “brother” terms with the guys running the BBQ grill near my place (as opposed to “sir”)

I've been noticing a lot of my own default coldness the last few years and it's more about fear of rejection :/ Taking it personally if I try to bring warmth to an interaction and it isn't reciprocated. Think I'm better about this now though.
