OTOH there's a thing like advice that doesn't have to be framed as advice that i really value, which is when a person crystallizes an experience i've already had but didn't have good concepts / words around. i love when that happens and i love doing it for others too

I'd say the onus is on you to engage ppl in conversations, rather than hoping they volunteer their stories? I've enjoyed peeks into ppl's lives by jumping into other people's threads, but just like IRL, ppl are just living their own lives
