Surprised you’re taking the herd immunity nonsense seriously. There is no herd immunity for an entirely new pathogen.

There is absolutely zero basis for relying on acquired immunity right now. This would be an experiment in democide. .

Surely herd immunity is a dangerous myth without vaccination.
@QandA -
Yes. Yes it is. Equivalent of a peacetime war crime. A government experimenting on its own citizens. We need a government that values its citizens over the economy. Only one can recover.

Trying to foster herd immunity will get a lot of people needlessly killed. If you get a mild case doesn't mean you pass on a mild case
#QandA -
Exactly!!! In the absence of a vaccine you can’t guarantee the outcome will be herd immunity without sacrificing a huge number of vulnerable people

2000 intensive care beds in the entire country?

-
It’s the elephant in the room. There’s less hospital beds per capita than there used to be, and the last of the hospitals specialising in infectious disease closed in the nineties. Victoria has promised 12 extra ICU beds. They’re probably going to need way more!

Shut everything now. Singapore & China prove it. The idea that politicians with less than a PhD think 'herd immunity' is a good idea, and Doctors & researchers with PhD's think isolating our community is good science (and history, from other pandemics)...Um, no contest
