"Attacking is supposedly cheap, whereas defending is expensive. The implication is that Attackers can just trip over their keyboards and produce a magic exploit that can defeat every organization's security. Perhaps in the early days of the internet, but today this is nonsense."pic.twitter.com/ge7Q5Sx5EU

I should add, intrusions are still cheap for most threat actors, because they have an almost unlimited target profile, and have the majority of their CNO program outsourced to the information security industry. Free exploit and tool development, all day, every day.

Framework is in the book's title, but I wouldn't consider anything in this book a replacement for ATT&CK or any other similar threat intelligence models. That's not what this is at all. This is a lot more strategic reading than getting into something like ATT&CK. You'll love it.

Humanity, Access & Economy, the three first-principles have been permanently etched on my brain.

Add “Principles of War for the Information Age” by Leonhold to your list. Diff topic, but that’s where I first read of the “laws” of Economy and Humanity.

Yeah, it's fairly decent, especially the first few chapters.

I liked chapter 7 too. (I’ll refrain from saying which I liked less.)
