I am pleased to announce the first forensic evidence of Q’s whereabouts, discovered by my colleague Abigail X (@BobPythonic) with help from Robert Amour (@kunstderfuge1). The full story is up @Bellingcat; we summarize our work in this thread. bellingcat.com/uncategorized/

Put this in a time capsule:

“I’m not a reader. I’m not a book person,” says Florida woman who was caught promoting a Nazi propaganda book on her Facebook page. This is the same non-reading woman who just got Amanda Gorman's poetry restricted in a Florida public school. jta.org/2023/05/24/uni

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ She said she had only read parts of the books.  “They have to read for me because I’m not an expert,” she said. “I’m not a reader. I’m not a book person. I’m a mom involved in my children’s education.”

This guy presents himself as the *reasonable, sophisticated* wing of the Target boycott movement So this is the MOST reachable person Target is trying to appease — and he thinks Target worships Satan because he read it on the internet.

Exhibit 8,570 showing that QAnon makes you a miserable crank. A big part of being a Q-watcher is just… seeing anon after anon go “I believe a bunch of BS & can no longer have joy in my life. Also,” (insert bonus horrible thing like, in this case, “I’m a sovereign citizen now”).

An alternative hypothesis might be that drops 1 and 2 aren’t actually by Q, but they have Q’s voice and preoccupations, so A) I think they’re almost certainly written by Q, but also B) If they aren’t, that would be pretty strong evidence that proto-Qs were abundant on 4chan.

which was days after this. Q actually “confirmed” several of these images as being correct and complete, so we know they were happy to let drops 1 and 2 fade into obscurity. But around 11/11/17, some anons rediscovered the first two drops & they made their way into canon.

In fact, even anons didn’t discover them for over a week. The earliest “Q maps” — meaning images that compiled all of Q’s then-known 4chan postings — didn’t show drops 1 or 2. They started when Q got 4chan-famous (bc that’s when anons started collecting the posts)…

While we’re on this subject: There are a lot of anons who claim they’ve been following Q since those first two drops on 10/28/17, and pretty much all of them are lying. The first two Q drops sank without a trace, drawing just a handful of replies and no followers.

Also: I have never once, to the best of my knowledge, seen an anon claim that they asked a National Guard member and they *were* called up for duty when Q said it would happen. Perhaps because it was a total fantasy. 🤷‍♂️

Correct. Read the next tweet in this thread, too, where Poker correctly points out Q’s shift from “her passport will be flagged a couple days from now so she can’t run” to “actually Hillary has already been detained.” This within the space of 2 hours. These were shitposts!
Quote Tweet
Q themselves showed up and made totally insane claims that would destroy their credibility from the start. That Hillary was about to be arrested. That you could ask members of the National Guard if they had been called up and they would confirm they had.

If I had to guess—and this is very off-the cuff—the FBI investigation into QAnon was dropped at least in part because, in 2018 to early 2019, there was just no evidence that whoever was behind Q was getting “any money, paper, document, or thing of value” out of the stunt.

Still unsettled legal question: is LARPing as a group of high level intel officers on imageboards a crime? According to these newly released documents, the New York field office of the FBI wasn't very aggressive in investigating the possibility that "Q" committed a crime. twitter.com/AlKapDC/status…

Calling the NAACP “socialists and Communists” is straight out of the segregationist playbook. In fact, they did this shit to every civil rights leader around. Here’s a billboard where they tried it with Dr. King.

Documents newly released by the FBI suggest that the bureau opened an investigation in 2018 into the identity of Q regarding the possible federal crime of "false personation of a federal official," & that subpoenas were issued, but that the investigation closed in 2019.

It's worse than a boycot, it's a harassment campaign. If conservatives don't want to spend money at Target, that's their right. But Target is backing down in the face of threats. apnews.com/article/target

Anyone falling for the extreme far-right's Target backlash — and framing it as a both-sides debate — are not doing their journalistic duty. They're repeating a harassment campaign that was telegraphed in public months ago. That is not your job as reporters.

Not only is the clip bullshit (as Mike explains in the thread), but the original tweet mixes up Seth Rogan and Joe Rogan, because conspiracists are TERRIBLE at fact-checking. P.S. I replied to the very last tweet in Mike’s thread with a bonus treat — a deep cut! Enjoy.

This clip of two comics telling Joe Rogan about a "Rothschild pyramid" in a town they built in Arizona is going viral. Felicity is an unincorporated community of two people in southeast CA, the pyramid is a tourist attraction, and the Rothschilds have nothing to do with it. twitter.com/HoneeDesigner/…

Target giving into anti-LGBTQ fascists. Seems significant that some items being singled out include gender affirming clothing. This is an attack on LGBTQ visibility but also an attack on accessible resources for trans/GNC people as bans against trans healthcare sweep the country.

Oh hey, did you know that you can wreck a @Target display and doing that enough will get them to pull the products you're vandalizing about?
