Getting a behind-the-scenes peek at some very cool new alleys being rebuilt in Pioneer Square. Eventually, two alleys will form an X right through the block, creating a nice pedestrian space.

I don’t know about all that pale brick. Did a Design Review Board get a chance to spend years objecting to that color? Did we see 128 possible variations on the brick color choices?

I can’t wait to live downtown or in at least a slightly more pedestrian friendly place than Shoreline again.
But when will Pike St—and Pine and Stewart Sts—west of 1st and Pike Pl get closed to automobile traffic? (Exceptions made at certain hours for market freight)
This has always been one of Seattle’s most walked blocks and is a perfect candidate for a pedestrian promenade.
