once you "get prefabs" you "know unity" prefabs confuse people! a hundred tiny little icons and no explanation anywhere. you know you want to use prefabs if you're manually making the same brightness change to 74 streetlights in your game level one-by-one
Everything in my game is prefabbed out. Then I can drag and drop new roads, corners, houses, instantiate NPCs, etc. And if I ever need to update a script, a setting, or a model it changes all of them. Without prefabs I'd quit. lol
