When using Git-like apps, do you upload commits on every file change or do you wait till the end of the day to push a single commit?
I upload when a task is complete. There will typically be between 1-3 pushes per day depending on the complexity of what I'm working on.

Do you write descriptions for your commits?

Yeah. Otherwise you lose the value behind the process. Something like this works well, especially if multiple people work on it: Title: General improvements (enemy + saves) - [Gameplay] fixed bug where enemy would walk thru doors - [UI] added save option to pause menu
